Teacher Biographies

Andrew Deliyannides Andrew Deliyannides graduated with a BA in English from Calvin College before going on to earn his MA and PhD in English from the University of  Notre Dame, where he has also taught writing and literature courses.  He and his wife homeschool their three children.  deliyannides@nd.edu

Ninette Deliyannides graduated from Calvin College with a BA in English and Art.  She taught for two years at Unity Christian in Fulton, IL before moving to Indiana and working as a substitute in the Penn Harris Madison schools.  She designed and sold jewelry at the South Bend Regional Museum of Art Gallery store and to the South Bend Marriot gift shop prior to starting a family.  She has taught a variety of art classes at South Bend libraries and to private groups.  She has written project directions for national chains and designed art kits for various companies.  She and her husband homeschool their three children. ndeliyannides@ngmail.com

Rusty Green is a retired computer programmer with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Kansas State University.  He has been improving his background in mathematics through self study. He can help with questions in most areas of pre-calculus mathematics.

Sally Hanson graduated from Bethel College with a BA in biology, and from the South Bend Medical Foundation School of Medical Technology with her Med Tech certification.  She and her husband, Mark, homeschooled their daughter from 8th through 12th grade. Sally is currently a medical laboratory supervisor, and has taught Sunday School for many years. sallyannehan@aol.com

Kate Henreckson grew up in Spokane, Washington, where she attended The Oaks Academy, a classical Christian school. She got her BA in liberal arts from New Saint Andrews College in Moscow, Idaho, where she also met her husband, Davey. After graduation, she found she hadn’t had enough of the antiquities, so she taught literature, English, and history for two years at another classical school called Logos. There she also had the unique opportunity of teaching highschoolers how to sing and dance, in choreographing the Broadway show “Oklahoma.” A week after the 2008/9 school year ended, she had her first child, a bouncing baby boy named David who brings her no end of amusement. katehenreckson@gmail.com

Nathan Sawatzky graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a BA (Honours) in Philosophy and is currently a PhD student at Notre Dame in Political Science with a focus on ancient political theory.  He took three years of Latin at the undergraduate level, during which time he also worked as a teacher’s assistant for introductory undergraduate Latin, grading tests and giving weekly lectures and work sessions for 6-12 students as well as one on one tutoring.  He especially enjoys helping students think through the processes of problem solving

Dr. Peter J. Wallace Dr. Peter J. Wallace graduated from the University of Notre Dame (Ph.D.
American History, 2004),Westminster Theological Seminary (M.Div., 1996), and Wheaton College
(B.A. History of Christian Thought, 1993). He has served as pastor of Michiana Covenant PCA since
2001. He is an adjunct professor at Mid-America Reformed Seminary, and has taught at Bethel
College and conducted numerous church history seminars in churches around the United States. Both he
and his wife, Ginger, are second generation home schoolers. wallace.1@opc.org

Kathleen Williamson graduated from Michigan State University in 1984 and attended Western Michigan University, pursuing an Electrical Engineering degree.  God then provided a strong desire for family, changed her direction and home education became her focus.  Studying the Writing Road to Reading program, by Romalda Spalding, she mastered the phonics necessary to teach proper spelling.  Becoming a registered instructor for the Institute for Excellence in Writing program, she has taught this method at all 3 levels to many homeschooling families in the surrounding area for the past 7 years as well as at a local Christian school.  She has developed a passion for encouraging students to discover their unique imprint from God through writing. She is currently homeschooling 4 of her 7 children, with 2 in college.  milvor@att.net

Sandra Zylstra B.S. Elementary Education with a music endorsement and a current Indiana teaching license. I’ve taught private piano lessons to students of all ages for several years and have taught K-8 music in at Covenant Christian School.  I also play piano for church on a regular basis and enjoy arranging hymns.  sandra.zylstra@comcast.net
